My brother (Finn)

"Chellsie..." Finn called from the kitchen. "Dinner!"
I took the rail to the livingroom.
"Finn?" I asked, "Did you cook again?" I smelled something burning.
"No that was Pete." Finn rolled his eyes, "He farted again."
I laughed, looking at the iguana that was sitting in our kitchen. He burped and ice came out of his mouth. I patted his head and looked at the meal.
Pasta. Yum. Finn's Pasta...Delicious.

I knock on the door.

"Get the door, Chells," Finn told me. I rolled my eyes and got up, walking to the entry.
"Hey, Lissa." I smiled as I opened the door.

"Um, how do you know my name?" I asked, then was embarrassed,"Was it because I cussed those guys out at school yesterday?"

I tapped my temple.
"I can tell who and what you are by one look," I laughed, "And yeah, one of those guys were my brother."
I turned.
"FINN! COME APOLOGIZE!"
Finn walked in.
"Sorry, dude." he said and walked away.

"He's the retard that followed me to school, I told him to F-off."

"Don't worry, he's so gonna die after you leave." I blushed from my brother's embarrassing ways.

"Are you new? I haven't seen you at school."

"Yeah, actually, we just moved in a few weeks ago. I'm starting school tomorrow."

"What grade?"

"I'm going to be a sophomore."

"Me too!"
Again, I thought

"Cool!" I smiled.
What kind of people are going to make fun of me this time?

"Oh!" I gasped under my breath

"What?"

"Um, would you mind coming to my house, I would rather not say it in the open?"

"Sure." I ran back into the house, grabbing my jacket and kissing my brother's cheek. "Don't eat it all, okay?"
"Fine," Finn replied, taking out his snake and letting him crawl on the table. I smiled and jogged back over to Lissa.

I led her to my house

I run back into my house, seeing the pasta still on the plates in the kitchen (even though Pete was eating it).
I look around, confused.
"Finn?" I call nervously.
"In here." He replied, softer than usual.
"What's wrong?" I ask. He had cheeks stained with tears.
"Dad...hasn't come home from work." Finn said, "And..."
"And?"
"He wont ever be coming back."
I sit next to Finn, taking in what had happened.
"So, we're orphans?"
"Consequently, yes."
"You're almost 18 though!"
"I know," Finn sighed, "That's why you can't tell ANYONE about what happened. Until I turn eighteen."
"Not even Lissa?"
"NOT even Lissa."
I nodded sadly and left up to my room to pack up a few things, and then left the house.
Finn can take care of me, I thought, Nothing to worry about.
